Perfect Sunglasses

So the sun seems to be thrusting out more as we get closer to summer. We can feel not only the eat on our skin but the rays through our eyes as well. Invest in a great quality pair of shades. Buy something you’ll want to wear and take care of. Invest in a great pair, you’ll WANT to wear them everywhere, everyday.

My go-to sunglasses are Ray Bans. I have about 14 pairs, all Wayfarer selective styles ranging from vintage to the current models. Other brands I own and like are: Costas Del Mar, Carrera, Chanel, Prada, and Burberry.

Find a pair that suits you, a pair that makes you feel like a million bucks. Cheap looks cheap, just remember that.

Below, is my newest pair. I wear this baby everywhere. Looks great, and it makes me feel great. I recommend buying polarized, but you don’t have to, because with higher quality sunglasses, there’s already great protection that stirs along.

And the green strap is my Vineyard Vines croakie. Just a little something for when I’m inside and don’t want to put my sunglasses away. It’s nice to have.

10 Essentials Every guy Should Have In Their Closet

Greetings!

Many of you have asked for it and here it is. I have compiled a selective list of the ten absolute essentials every guy should have somewhere in their closet. The list ranges from shoes to jackets, the whole package, the real deal. I also have taken upon myself to point out some of my favourites pieces, items I own and love, and where you guys can purchase them as well. Without any further introductions, lets begin.

1. Fitted dark denim- This is a key item in every guy’s closet. Let’s cue in on the first word, “Fitted.” When I say that, I don’t mean skinny jeans or straight cuts, or any other cuts for that matter. I mean a pair of denim that sits perfectly balanced on your hips without a belt. Dark denim is slimming, and is a strong look for all seasons and works well with virtually every piece you have already in your closet. You can dress it up or play it down.

Suggestion(s):

Levi’s 513 Slim Jeans ($58)- Rinsed dark indigo

2. Two button suit- Every guy should have a nice, well tailored suit. You never know how much a well fitted suit is going to handy. Great a meetings, dates, or late night outings. The international dress code for men are actually suits, so you can never go wrong wearing a suit. Dress it casually or up with the type of dress shirt that goes underneath. You can do so much with a suit, its crazy. Black, navy and grey is key. Also, don’t cheap out when it comes to suits, because you can deffiently feel the difference between a department store’s suit and a well tailored comfortable suit. It’s an investment.

Suggestion(s):

Burberry London Wool Blend Slit Fit Suit ($1895)- Ink

3. Slim fit dress shirt- Slim fits shirts are more popular and recommended than ever. Slim fit shirts don’t make you look smaller, they help with all the bunching and excess unwanted fabric when you tuck in your shirts. It also helps shape your sides for a more attractive formality. There should be a white and blue slim fit shirt in every man’s closet. Pop one underneath your suit for a business appeal or throw some dark denim underneath and you’re ready to go out.

Suggestion(s):

Burberry Striped Cotton Shirt ($195)- City Grey

Burberry Tailored Fit Button Collar Shirt ($165)- Ink

4. Fitted khaki trousers/ chinos- These trousers are great for wherever you go, whether it be uptown for brunch with your mates, walk in the park, or downtown late at night to have dinner. It’s a great shift from wearing denim all the time. Great piece to work with and goes with just about every shirt or tees. Again, make sure the fitting is tailored to you, so you can feel and look your best.

Suggestion(s):

Burberry Brit Slim Fit Chinos ($195)- Dark Bayleaf

5. Lasting belts- Invest in a brilliant, long-lasting belt. A man can use and hold on to his belt on average for 35+ years! Purchase a great belt that you can feel proud of and can work with your whole wardrobe. One of the colour black and brown is recommended.

Suggestion(s):

Hermes Cape Cod 32 ($890)- Black

Vineyard Vines Fish Hook Belt- ($95.50)- Dark Brown

6. Edgy jacket- For all the nights that are too plain cold out, a great jacket can not only keep you warm, but also spice up your outfit. Layering with a jacket is great and shows that you know how to piece your wardrobe together well. Invest in a light, comfortable jacket that’s a neutral colour. This will work with just about everything on a day to day basis.

Suggestion(s):

Burberry Quilted Blousen With Suede Patches ($895)- Black

Burberry Brit Zip Front Packaway Blousen ($395)- Khaki

7. Weekend travel duffle- A duffle is a great little luggage for all your weekend trips and/or travel. Fits just about everything you need and great use as a carry on. Commit yourself to a great lasting soft sided duffle that will be your excuse to take that weekend trip you always wanted to.

Suggestion(s):

Burberry Large Leather Holdall ($1,295)- Ebony

Louis Vuitton Keepall 50 ($1,170)- Monogram

8. Stylish Shoes- This can go and lead into many ways and style. This part is mostly up to you. Pick a pair that showcase your style yet still pushing your limits. Play around with the colours and type of shoe. Here are some of my favourites.

Suggestion(s):

Florsheim The Saddle by Duckie Brown ($325)- Stone/ Banana

Christian Louboutin Louis studded Flat Sneakers ($1,200)- Black

Christian Louboutin Rollerboy Spikes ($1,195)- Black

9. Sunglasses- This is a must for every man. Sunglasses not only block the sun out of your eyes, but gives you an edge as well. Finding a perfect pair can be a bit of a challenge but well worth it. you’ll find yourself wearing them everywhere regardless of how much of the sun if out. My advice to you is stick with the classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer. It’s never going to go out of style, and a great addition to any outfit.

Suggestion(s):

Ray-Ban RB2132 55 Wayfarer ($124.95)- Black

10. Playful shorts- There are so many types of shorts out there, it’s nuts. To find the perfect weekend shorts, I suggest looking for something that is above the knee, minimal as possible (stay away from plaids if you can), no cargos (or extra pockets on the sides), and comfortable fitting. Find something that you can work with the majority of your clothing and don’t forget to have fun with the colour as well. Great for any spring/ summer outing with your family.

Suggestion(s):

Vineyard Vines Embroidered Club Shorts ($98.50)- Blue Blazer

Vineyard Vines Twill Club Shorts ($69.50)- Rhubarb

There you have it, my top ten essentials every guy should have in their closet. I hope this helps you get an idea of what you want and how you can make the most of your essential wardrobe. If you guys have any questions/ ideas at all or any concerns, just drop me a line.

Until next time, look major,

Brian
